“Fluffy” is the second single from North London indie/Rock band Wolf Alice. Now if you’re sitting there scratching your head going who the F*** is Wolf Alice then your about to hear one of the best new comers to Indie Rock in 2013. Their first single “Leaving You” is a free download that they released a few months backs and set in motion a buzz that would be hard for any band to live up to. With “Fluffy” I pretty much knew immediately they had exceeded everyone’s expectations and solidified themselves as a serious talent with a massive sound. “Fluffy” is available now on .

FemC Azealia Banks dropped “BBD” a Trap single Produced by Apple Juice Kid and Sup Doodle. It hasn’t been confirmed if this track is actually on her début album “Broke With Expensive Taste” which is due to come out in February on Interscope. I think it’s safe to say Azealia Banks is riding pretty high she’s getting tons of praises from magazines and bunch of successful mix tapes so it’s no surprise that “Broke With Expensive Taste” is at the top of many lists on the Internet of albums to look out for in 2013. Making that jump from underground to mainstream can be a difficult transition. On a recent comment she made about the rap game she gave us some understanding to where she wants to go as an artist and how she plans on making that leap. “I’d eventually like to stop rapping, that’s just the honest truth,” Banks said. “One day I don’t wanna rap anymore, just because I think it’s easy, but I think it’s kinda tacky. I think it’s very unladylike. I like it but I think I’m gonna get tired of it.” I don’t know about tacky and unladylike but there’s some underlying truth here that eventually mainstream audiences get tired and end up wanting more from an artist that’s just the way it is. If you want to make it in the big picture of the music world as a female MC you better be multi talented. So at least Banks has the foresight to understand that and the honesty to admit it, now all she has to do is make it happen. The World is still waiting for that Female anomalie in the rap game and I look forward to the Lady who can break that boundary and make it happen, but you better bring some serious production and lyrical skills. Hell nobody thought white people could rap until Eminem came and proved them wrong so it’s not impossible. Banks has allot of talent, a great sense of style musically and fashion wise and 2012 was really good to her. Now in 2013 I think she wants to prove that she’s no one-trick pony. So go check out “BBD” (Bad Bitches Do it) and make sure and keep up with her on the Inter-Web by following the links below.

Brooklyn Based underground artist Angel Haze has taken Eminem’s track “Cleaning Out My Closet” and thrown down some frank and straight forward lyrics of her own sexual abuse. Deeply introspective and powerful she commands your attention as she releases her inner demons sharing her personal experience of being raped and sodomized at the age of 7. She lays it all out, holding nothing back, taking you with her as she re-lives those painful moments. Gritty raw and bold, this is self-expression at its highest level and the kind of honesty in music that keeps the world in balance from all the superficial crap. Her new EP Classick is out tomorrow 10.25.12 pick it up.
“The makings of a legend are often hidden in trails,” “So just be strong and just move on and just accept what you can, because it makes your story better when you read it [at the] end.”

NYC DJ/producer Thornato is known for that Latin Booty Bass Flavor. Incorporating the classic rhythms of Cumbia and Champeta in his music he produces a sound that resonates the kind of vibes that keeps the dance floor gyrating and pulsating all night. This is the Future as far as I’m concerned, Dubstep taught the world to appreciate the slow groove of a well placed bass line and introduced them to a new way of looking at the dance floor. Now producers like Thornato are showing us the rich sound of the Latin groove and next level of the Bass sound. Check out his latest free download “Stinking Rich” a remix of a 2009 Reagaton track from Gappy Ranks and show some love and go out and support this artist.

“New York” is the stand out track from Angel Haze’s latest album “Reservation”. The raw fierceness and street level mentality that exudes from this track is the perfect example of great Hip Hop that’s been coming out of New York these days. Angel Haze, Joey BadA$$, Captial Steez and The Progressive ERA are just a few of the new generation throwing it down in the Big Apple, bringing real purpose to their music and showing talent. I hope they can keep bringing this kind of quality because this is exactly what Hip Hop needs now.

Peep in to the New York club scene with DJ Will Automagic & Nita Aviance’s new project The Carry Nation on Hannah Holland’s well-known Batty Bass Records. The tune is “This Bitch is Alive” feat Viva Ruiz on vocals and a fierce video filmed at Vandam in New York. The video had me viben hard off this tune and got me geared up and ready for some dance floor debauchery.

Capital Steez and his partner in Rhyme Joey Bada$$ are getting ready to claim 2012. Their Brooklyn crew Progressive Era is blowing up and breathing new life into Hip-Hop with a raw sound that projects sincerity and honesty two quality’s that is hard to come by in the rap game. Capital Steeze was a standout performance in Joey Bada$$’s “Survival Tactics” and his new video Vibe Ratings is the first visual off his free LP “American Koruption” (download free here). “Vibe Ratings” showcases Steez’s playful charismatic lyrical word play against some big burly beats that are guaranteed to get that heading nodding. This is top shelf and worth a spin or two.
